Florida is a state located in the southeastern region of the United States, bordering Alabama to the northwest and Georgia to the northeast. Much of the land mass of the state is a large peninsula with the Gulf of Mexico to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east. Most of Florida has a humid subtropical climate southern Florida has a tropical climate.[4] Florida was named by Juan Ponce de León, who landed on the peninsula on April 2, 1513, during Pascua Florida (Spanish for "Flowery Easter," referring to the Easter season). Florida is the fourth most populous state in the U.S.[5][6]

When you think of U.S. beach destinations, you probably of 3 main areas, right? Most people think of Florida, California and their dream of Hawaii. I would never tell someone not to go to Hawaii if the opportunity arises. Hawaii has it's gorgeous beaches, fantastic weather and the diversity in topography from vast agricultural land to soaring volcanoes. I would also recommend several intriguing areas of California where you can enjoy amazing cuisine and equally amazing weather. Now let's talk about Florida! Here in Florida we have some of the world's most beautiful beaches and arguably among the most affordable beaches in the country. You can still choose the elite beaches of Boca Raton on the east coast or Sanibel Island and Captiva Island on the west coast, but you can also opt for extremely affordable vacations such as Panama City Beach and Mexico Beach in the Florida Panhandle.

Florida, the Sunshine State, is famous for sunshine and family-friendly attractions as there is Walt Disney World, Kennedy Space Center, Busch Gardens, Sea World and Universal Studios. There is more to it than just Flipper, Shamu and rollercoasters in the theme parks. In the southwest are perfect conditions for all kind of watersports and wildlife watching.
