Sandestin: A Resort Destination
The term "Sandestin" refers not to a city proper but instead to a destination resort situated in the city of Miramar Beach, Florida. The Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is therefore located along the Gulf Coast of Florida, but sits in the northwest area of the state, between Walton County's Choctawhatchee Bay and the Gulf of Mexico itself. This means that Sandestin residents and tourists have access to more than one source of beach and water fun.
A gated community, the city boasts more than 1,500 houses, condominiums, villas, and town homes, many of which serve as Sandestin holiday homes for tourists eager to enjoy the amenities of the resort. That may sound crowded, but it isn't; these homes are spread across 30 different neighborhoods that collectively possess more than seven miles of bay front and oceanfront beaches. There are also four golf courses in Sandestin, and for those who prefer a good tennis match instead, 15 courts are available. Swimming in Sandestin need not be in the blue ocean waters alone, but can also take place in the nearly 20 swimming pools that form an integral part of the resort.
Boating enthusiasts will also find Sandestin vacations to their taste since there is a marina there with 98 slips. Even those who do not like to go out on the water will find it interesting and entertaining to walk along the marina to admire the various watercrafts.
Restaurants and entertainment are available right inside Sandestin itself, making it no wonder that the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort earned the accolade of "Best Resort on the Emerald Coast" two years running.
