Most people can name a few of the rides in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Classic attractions such as Space Mountain, where visitors soar through outer space in a roller coaster, or Peter Pan, where they fly in a pirate ship over the city of London, are famous all over the world. What may be less well-known is the fact that Disney’s devotion to fantasy extends even to the restaurants in and around the various parks in its Orlando complex. Guests staying in Disney vacation rentals can enjoy a different fantasy dining experience for every meal.
For those who will not make it to the South Pacific any time soon, a close facsimile can be found at Disney’s Polynesian Resort, where the Spirit of Aloha Show provides not only an all-you-can-eat luau featuring barbecued pork ribs, Polynesian rice, and roast chicken, but also entertainment including fire-knife performers and lovely ladies dancing the hula. Dinners at the luau range from $36.00 to $60.00. There are two performances each evening except for Sundays and Mondays, when the luau is closed.
For a dining experience more fairy tale than reality, visitors to the Magic Kingdom can try Cinderella’s Royal Table, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week. Visitors will dine in a castle setting that looks out onto Fantasyland itself and will have a chance to interact with various Disney Princesses who chat with guests and sign autographs. A photograph with Cinderella is a part of each dining experience here.
