VacationRentalDirect.com was founded on the premise that it's very possible to add lots of customers at a low cost while also integrating the best technology at the lowest price.
It's also not impossible to provide great customer service, while actually listening to your customers.

I signed up for homeaway.com, a vacation rental site that recently acquired a couple other sites. $299 for a on eyear listing on all of their sites. It seemed like a pretty good deal, until I actually paid the fee and went through the process of adding a listing. IT TOOK FOREVER!

Not only that but when I was done, it took over two days for them to review my listing and then they rejected it because they only allow one unit to be listed at a time. I own a resort with multiple units, and they were trying to tell me that I had to list each unit seprately. What a crock of crap! I told them to go hell and demanded a refund. Thankfully they complied.

On the competitive side of things, I'm glad that homeaway seems to be run by a complete bunch of idiots. It will make the success of this site all the more sweeter. I'll never sell out to them or any compnay like them. A vacation rental site must bend over backwards for its customers and help them in every way possible to rent out there unit. Unfortunately, homeaway.com has chosen to try and nickel and dime their customers, which will ultimately lead to their demise.

No too mention, the duplicate content issues they are going to face by publishing each users listing on three sites. Idiots!
