In the nearby village of Ferreira de Panton you will find most local amenities supermarkets, banks, restaurants, bars, post office, tourist information office. The river beach at A Cova on the river Mino is a short car drive away. The coast is just over an hours drive away, as is Portugal. The area boasts many local fiestas. The nearby town of Monforte de Lemos offers a wider choice of services. It’s most prominent features are the monastery of San Vicente do Pino and the Torre de Homenaxe, both perched high on a hill in the centre of the town dominating the surrounding area. Another building of historic interest is the convent of the Franciscanas Descalzas. Within the convent is the Nais Clarisas museum which contains some of the highest quality religious artifacts in the whole of Spain. A visit to Galicia would not be complete without a trip to the pilgrimage centre of Santiago de Compostela.
