The Deerfield Beach Arboretum

This combination arboretum and botanical garden covers about nine acres of land and hosts more than 200 varied species of palms and trees from all around the world. Special attractions at the arboretum include stands of bamboo, a butterfly garden, a display of orchids, a children's garden, and a wetlands demonstration. Tourists interested in the culinary arts will probably find the spice and herb garden a fascinating place to roam. Other exhibitions include native canopy trees and tropical fruit trees.

To combine community service work with your vacation, visit the arboretum on the first Saturday in a month, when the site hosts a workday. Otherwise, the arboretum is open every day from dawn to dusk, with tours available on Fridays at 10am and on the Saturday workday at the same time.
