HISTORY: Aster House has been renting since 1891, and under the present owners since 1982.
We've had guests stay as long as 9 years and return as long as for 18 years, so being that well-established and with that kind of loyalty you may be assured of a pleasant stay -- in fact, MOST
of our tenants are referrals or repeats!

NEIGHBORHOOD The Aster House is centrally located on a quiet residential street in Lincoln Park, Chicago's most desirable downtown neighborhood --- here's why:
~Within 1/2 to 2 blocks are many restaurants including a 24-hour diner, cafes, pizzerias til 5am, sports bars, bakeries, fine and resale shops, a park out back (softball diamond, playground, free tennis courts), theatres, art galleries, museums, music venues, post office, library, dry cleaners, health clubs, Starbucks, day spas, hair and nail salons, barbers, DePaul University, a late-night pharmacy.
~ Within 2 - 10 blocks are an 11-theatre movie house, two comedy clubs, Lincoln Park, more pocket parks, two farmers' markets May 1 - Oct 31, the year-round free city zoo and botanical gardens, the lake/Fullerton beach with its 18-mile biking/running path, and necessities such as Best Buy,Target, Whole Foods, Barnes & Noble, etc. Wrigley Field is 10 blocks up the street.

TRANSPORTATION: We're 1/2 to 1 block from the Fullerton subway/el station (Red, Brown and Purple lines), taxicabs, city Divvy bicycles and 4 buses to reach all the rest of the city's attractions. The Loop is about a 6-minute subway/el ride or 10-minute bike ride.

For further trips and an easy arrival, we are 1 mile from Lakeshore Drive, Routes 90 and 94.

THE HOUSE: Built in 1891, this totally updated Victorian-style house has a back yard, a covered
porch with rockers, and spacious sun deck with umbrella table, chaises, chairs and charcoal grill.

THE APARTMENTS:
1. *Alice's Annex*, 1.5 bedroom / 1 bath sleeps up to 5
is garden level and all on one level. It offers a living room, a second sitting area with cable
television and DVD, dining nook to seat 4, a study with large desk and book-filled shelves, kitchenette (refrigerator, cook top, coffee maker, microwave, toaster oven, blender, Corian counters and sink), bathroom with shower over tub, free en suite full-size front-load washer and dryer, sound system
with in-wall speakers, landline phone, private entrance. For sleeping, there is
~ Bedroom: queen bed, dresser, armoire
~ Sleeping nook: single bed, shelving, dresser
~ Living room: queen sleeper sofa, dresser, closet

2. *Elizabeth's Place* 3 bedroom / 1 bath, up to 6
is on the first level with 10' ceilings over its living room with cable television and DVD player,
a dining room that seats 12, study with desk and book-filled shelves and sound system, deluxe
eat-in kitchen (SubZero refrigerator, glass cook top and oven, dishwasher, coffee maker, microwave, toaster oven, blender, Corian counters and sink), bathroom with clawfoot tub and shower, free personal full-size front-load washer and dryer, sound system and a landline phone.
For sleeping there are
~Bedroom #1: queen bed, dresser, closet, shelving
~Bedroom #2 : full bed, dresser/desk, closet
~Bedroom #3/Study: deluxe full futon bed, book-filled shelves, deep closet, sound system

3. *Bella's Duplex*, 4 bedroom / 2 bath sleeps up to 8
One flight up from street level with 10' ceilings are:
Living room with cable flatscreen TV and hardwood floors, dining room to seat 8, book-filled study with music system, bathroom with shower over a deep soaking tub, deluxe eat-in kitchen (SubZero refrigerator, dishwasher, disposal, toaster oven, blender, coffee maker, antique oak hutch), sunny dining nook to seat 4 overlooking the garden, and mud room. For sleeping on this level are:
~ Bedroom #1 with 2 vintage single beds, generous storage, desk, dresser, closet
~Bedroom #2 with a full Louis Philippe antique bed, desk, marble-topped dresser, closet, TV/DVD.
Two flights up from street level with 12' ceilings are:
A large marble bathroom entered via beveled-glass doors with a 75-gallon tub/shower, a screened-in furnished balcony, and laundry/storage room with free personal over-size washer and dryer.
For sleeping on this level are 2 spacious sunny guest rooms:
~ Bedroom #3: queen bed, love seat, 10' long dresser with desk, large closet, TV and DVD, sound system, mini-fridge, bamboo floors (Note that this room has no privacy door, but thick terry bathrobes are provided for all Bella guests)
~ Bedroom #4: entered via tall antique etched glass doors and furnished with an Italian antique
Deco 8-piece bedroom set used for *The Untouchables* TV show (carved head and foot boards, mirrored dresser, 3-door armoire, 2 night tables and 2 arm chairs) on wall-to-wall carpet, 2 closets.

AMENITIES: The following all are included:
Innwide secure high-speed Wifi, cable television, land line phones, guest-controlled air conditioning, free laundry, storage --- and all cookware, dishes, iron, ironing board, hair dryer, bed linens, towels, etc -- just bring your toothbrushes! :)

PARKING: If you have a vehicle (though not necessary here), street parking is easy, and we'll explain the local parking regulations.

MISCELLANEOUS: The house is strictly NON-SMOKING, though ashtrays are provided on the porch and sundeck. And so sorry, but no pets are allowed.
