The Ehukai Hale is a picturesque 3 bedroom/2 bathroom, updated “Hawaiian-style” cottage circa 1930s with a dramatic “wall of windows” in the main living area overlooking the ocean and Hauula Bay.
This fully air conditioned beach house accommodates families or large groups up to 10 guests. The home can be connected via an interior connecting door or kept in a separate configuration of a 2 bedroom, 1 bath on one side and a separate “in-law” studio, one bath on the other side.
The main portion is an air conditioned and spacious two bedroom, one bathroom area with porcelain tile floors throughout. It features a complete, modern, open and renovated (2007) kitchen with granite countertops, sealed top stove/range, dishwasher, built-in microwave, fridge, and all the cooking utensils you need to prepare complete meals. The kitchen opens to the living area with a large breakfast bar/nook and enjoys direct ocean views. The living area is richly decorated with warm tropical and plantation style furniture and also has wrap-around breath-taking ocean views. There is one queen and one twin size futon with 8” mattresses in the living room. In the dining room area the original red wood beams have been exposed and creative lighting illuminates the ceiling. The master suite has tranquil garden views and features a queen-size Sealy posturepedic pillow-top bed. The second bedroom also has a queen-size Sealy posturepedic pillow-top bed and heavy teak and tropical furniture for an elegant feel.
The studio side is a spacious (500+ sf living area) bedroom and bathroom suite with ceramic tile floors throughout. The kitchen and bathroom were both completely remodeled in 2007. The open kitchen has maple cabinetry and granite countertops, a full size sealed top stove/range, built-in microwave, full size fridge, and all the cooking utensils you need to prepare complete meals. The kitchen opens to the living area with a convenient breakfast bar/nook. The living area is richly decorated with warm tropical and plantation style furniture and enjoys direct ocean views. There is a queen size futon with 8” mattress and teak dining table in the living area. The bed area has a queen size bed just 20 feet away from the gentle surf.
This home enjoys cool tropical breezes year around, however there are ceiling fans in addition to mini-split air conditioning throughout.
Enjoy relaxing on our direct beachfront yards which overlook the blue Pacific Ocean. There is plenty of area for sunbathing on the beach or on our grassy beachside yards. Watch spectacular sunrises while soaking in one of our four hot tubs, stroll down the beach to the Hauula beach park and coral preserve for some great snorkeling and swimming or take our ocean kayaks out for some adventure. Close by are world famous North Shore attractions such as the Hauula hiking trails and preserve, Polynesian Cultural Center, Turtle Bay Resort and Golf, Brigham Young University, Sunset Beach, Waimea Bay, Kualoa Ranch and the last unspoiled ''Hawaiian'' style towns on Oahu. All our properties are located in the fishing town of Hauula on the North Shore of Oahu near the Polynesian Cultural Center, Turtle Bay, Kualoa Ranch, and many other wonderful Oahu attractions. We are approximately 1 hour from Honolulu International Airport; where the Ko''olau Mountains touch the Pacific Ocean. Although we are “away from it all” we do have the Hauula Kai shopping center a short walk/drive away which has a large grocery store and several restaurants.
Our rural community of single family homes, small shops, and quaint restaurants is very different from the high rise retail/ tourist centers of Waikiki and Ko''olina. With hiking trails and unspoiled beaches, we offer a glimpse of the Oahu of yesteryear with convenient access to the night life and modern pleasures of Honolulu and Waikiki.
If you want to escape the crowds and discover a quieter and more peaceful alternative to the hotel and resort scene then Hale Ko''olau is perfect for you. Although our rentals are entirely self-catering we do have someone available on-site every day from 10am to 6pm to answer questions, give suggestions on where to go and what to do, or to just talk story.

| Cancellation Policy Once the balance has been paid and there is a cancellation within thirty (30) days prior to arrival we will refund fifty percent (50%) of what we can recover by re-renting the property. We reserve the right to offer and re-rent the property for less than the amount you have paid by offering a last-minute discount or incentive. We highly encourage guests to procure travel insurance via a provider of your choice. |
