The Hale Mauka-Makai is our HUGE 5 bedroom/3 bathroom, direct beachfront vacation home on the North Shore of Oahu, literally just steps from the edge of the beautiful South Pacific Ocean. This 3000+ SF home can easily accommodate large families, groups, or multiple families traveling together. The views from this two-story home are breathtaking, providing you with a 180 degree view of Hauula Bay and the majestic Ko''olau Mountains as your natural backdrop for priceless photos and memories.

The downstairs portion (1,500+ SF living area) has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom with porcelain tile floors throughout. It also features a remodeled kitchen & bath (2007) with granite counter tops, full size stainless sealed-top steel stove/range, built-in microwave, full size refrigerator, and all the cooking utensils you need to prepare complete meals. This floor also has a private en-suite coin-op washer & dryer. The living area is richly decorated with warm tropical & plantation style furniture and enjoys direct ocean views. There are two queen size futons with 8” mattresses in the living room in addition to a dining area with teak dining table and seating for six. The master bedroom has wrap-around ocean views and is furnished with elegant and tropical teak furniture and a queen-size Sealy posturepedic pillow-top bed. The second bedroom also has a queen-size Sealy posturepedic pillow-top bed and heavy teak and tropical furniture for an elegant feel. The third bedroom is furnished with two twin-size Sealy posturepedic pillow-top beds. All areas of the home have ceiling fans, however they are rarely necessary as this home enjoys cool ocean breezes year around.

This upstairs area is a spacious (1,500+ SF living area) two bedroom, two bath area with porcelain tile floors in the living area and wall to wall carpet in the bedrooms. It also features a complete, large and open, modern kitchen with a breakfast bar, sealed top stove/range, microwave, full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, and all the cooking utensils you need to prepare complete meals. The living area is light and airy, featuring vaulted ceilings and tropical-style furniture overlooking breathtaking ocean views. There is a queen and a full size futon with 8” mattresses in addition to an adjacent dining area with seating for up to six. The master suite is furnished with tropical furniture and a king-size, high quality pillow-top bed. The master bath features decorative ceramic tile work and has amazing ocean and mountain views to enjoy while showering. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed and tropical furniture for an airy island feel, also in this room is a coin-op washer and dryer located in the closet. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans although they are rarely needed as this home enjoys cool tropical breezes year around.

All our properties are located in the fishing town of Hauula on the North Shore of Oahu near the Polynesian Cultural Center, Turtle Bay, Kualoa Ranch, and many other wonderful Oahu attractions. We are approximately 1 hour from Honolulu International Airport; where the Ko''olau Mountains touch the Pacific Ocean. Although we are “away from it all” we do have the Hauula Kai shopping center a short walk/drive away which has a large grocery store and several restaurants.

Our rural community of single family homes, small shops, and quaint restaurants is very different from the high rise retail/ tourist centers of Waikiki & Ko''olina. With hiking trails and unspoiled beaches, we offer a glimpse of the Oahu of yesteryear with convenient access to the night life and modern pleasures of Honolulu & Waikiki.

If you want to escape the crowds and discover a quieter and more peaceful alternative to the hotel and resort scene then Hale Ko''olau is perfect for you. Although our rentals are entirely self-catering we do have someone available on-site every day from 10am to 6pm to answer questions, give suggestions on where to go and what to do, or to just talk story.
