Property Details

There aren't many condos right on the beach, where you can swim or snorkel in front. You won’t find many where you can sit on a double sized lanai and see Humpback Whales leap from the water each winter out in Maalaea Bay.

When you walk in and see the view of the ocean from the living room, you will be delighted. When you go outside to the lanai, the spectacular 180-degree views of Maui's entire south coast will take your breath away. Each morning, you can watch the sun come up over Haleakala. It is truly, an indescribable experience.

We are located at the Kanai A Nalu, one of 3 complexes in Maalaea, right on the beach. The other 7 are on a rocky reef. Many have coin $$ operated laundry rooms, 2 are next to the busy Harbor, with its boat engine noise and fumes. Many do not have Air and some have distant parking lots.

The Kanai A Nalu has been rated the best property in Maalaea. Directly on four miles of sandy beach, located on a quiet, cul-de-sac. Free parking is just steps away. Being a convenient, ground floor unit, there are no stairs or elevators to deal with. We have our own in-unit washer and dryer and air conditioning. There are beautiful grounds, green lawns, 4 BBQ's, comfortable chaise lounges, a pool (one of the few heated), and a beachside shower.

Beyond our complex, the beach runs parallel to a government protected wildlife refuge. Hawksbill turtles lay their eggs here. No development is allowed. It becomes Sugar Beach and runs for almost four mile. Take a morning walk and you may not run into another person.

Being a Corner unit is nothing like the "interior" units. They can be dark inside, with only one window in the master. Their second bedroom's window opens to a busy walkway or parking lot. Our Corner Condo has NO NEIGHBORS ON ONE SIDE. It is quieter, more private and has incredible views of the beach from the front corner, master bedroom's wall-to-wall windows in both outside walls. Our second bedroom has views of the ocean, the grounds and the pool. Many condos have upstairs "loft" bedrooms that open to the space below, or masters that open to the living room. These offer no privacy or isolation from the noise of the other guests.

Our bedrooms are “traditional” full size rooms with solid walls. In the master is a $2600 "Sleep Numbers" adjustable king bed. Each side can be individually set to the desired firmness or softness of each guest. Two twin beds with pillowtop mattresses in the second bedroom can be pushed together to create another king bed. Both bedrooms have decorator bedding, wood blinds, ceiling fans and Cable TV with either a DVD or VHS player.

Due to the previous owner being in a wheelchair, he was allowed to alter the condo. The lanai is twice the size of the others. He was given permission to enlarge it to accommodate his wheelchair, plus have room for tables and chairs. It extends beyond the normal lanais, increasing our views even further. It has two tables and six chairs instead of the normal four. With a larger group, everyone can be together.

You have a view of the ocean from the full size kitchen. It has everything, including newer counter tops, full size stove, side-by-side fridge with an icemaker, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, toaster oven, blenders, coffee maker, cookware, utensils, silverware, dishes, an iron and ironing board, dishtowels and a washer and dryer.

The master bath has an over sized tiled shower with both a wall mounted and a hand held showerhead. The other bathroom has a full size tub, sliding doors and a shower above. Each has a wall-mounted "hotel quality" hair dryer.

We have an Air Conditioner, flat screen TV in the living room ( plus 2 other TV's), Wireless High Speed Internet, Wall-mounted hair dryers, Queen Sleeper Sofa, a “Safety First” Crib, Children’s Games, Sand Toys, an Umbrella, Ice Chests, and Beach Towels. We have a $2,600 "Sleep Numbers" King Bed (individually adjusts firmness or softness on each side). In addition to all the previous items the condo has 2 Twin with pillow-top mattresses, Six Ceiling Fans, Three Cable TVs, 2 DVD players, CD stereo system, Phone (free local calls), Answering machine, Dining table with seating for six, full Size Kitchen, Full size Stove, Dishwasher, Microwave, Side-by-side Fridge, Icemaker, ToasterOven, Coffee Maker, Blender, Dishes, Utensils, Cookware, Washer and Dryer, Ironing board & Iron, Vacuum, Linens, Paperbacks, Activity Books, Children’s Games, Movies, Beach chairs, Mats, and Boogie Boards. A safe for your valuables.


LOCAL ATTRACTIONS:

About 1/4 mile away (almost within walking distance) is an area called the "Maalaea Village". There you will find six great restaurants from casual to 4-Star, and most have ocean or harbor views. The charming "Harbor Shops" shopping complex and the Pacific Whale Foundation.

There is also the Maalaea Harbor (one of Maui's main harbors) where boats leave on snorkeling, dinner and sunset cruises. During winter they leave on hourly "Whale Watching" trips out in Maalaea Bay. Next to the Harbor is the renowned Maui Ocean Center, a world-class Hawaiian aquarium with a clear glass, walk through "under water tunnel" allowing you to view sharks, manta rays and beautiful tropical fish without getting wet.

The drive from the Kahului airport is only 12 minutes on a modern four-lane highway.

NEW DISCOUNTED RATES - For 2 to 4 guests. 5 night minimum and up. $300 refundable security deposit required with booking.
Balance due 60 days prior to arrival for regular seasons, 120 prior for Holidays.

Rates do not include 13.25% Hawaii state taxes or cleaning fee.
