Well equipped, clean & comfortable, it has been completely re-furbished with facilities and equipment for five guests to sleep in two bedrooms. There is an enclosed lawn, gardens and parking to the front and side.
Binchester is a small village 3 miles north-east of Bishop Auckland and 9 miles south-west of Durham City. A public footpath opposite the cottage leads to fields, woods and the Auckland Walk for those wishing to exercise themselves or dogs. The gardens & rear patio are fully enclosed & gated
The house is fully double glazed, has good loft insulation and is carpeted throughout. Central heating is gas-fired and the lounge is equipped with a gas fire. All rooms have been furnished to provide comfort for guests. The two bedrooms and bathroom are situated on the first floor. The kitchen/diner and lounge are situated on the ground floor The front entrance is via a double glazed porch.
The main bedroom has one double bed and one single bed, the smaller bedroom has two single beds. All linen, bedding, towels, etc., and gas/electricity are provided in the hire costs. The kitchen/diner is fully equipped and has access to the patio area and rear entrance.

Major supermarkets, banks, libraries and general shops are available at Bishop Auckland or Spennymoor (both 3 miles). There is a Service Station, with shop selling a range of goods from milk to toothpaste, 300yds from the cottage, and a post office/shop at Middlestone Moor (1 mile).
Cash Machines are available in Bishop Auckland and Spennymoor.
There is a public telephone (& post box) 100m from the cottage, and a bar in the Village Community Centre (100m). There are a number of pubs & inns within 2 miles, with reasonably priced food, and a variety of 'take-away' & ethnic restaurants in Bishop Auckland or Spennymoor.
Binchester is an ideal touring centre being 15 minutes from Durham City, 1¾ hrs from York, 2 hrs from the Lake District and 1½ hrs from the Scottish Borders and 2 ¾ hrs from Edinburgh.
Binchester is near Binchester Roman Fort, Auckland Castle, Durham Cathedral & Castle, Raby Castle, Barnard Castle, Teesdale & Weardale
There are golf courses at Bishop Auckland, Woodham & Durham. Leisure centres at Willington, Spennymoor and Bishop Auckland.
Beamish Museum, Locomotion, the Roman Wall, the Durham and Yorkshire Dales & Moors, and the coasts of Yorkshire and Northumberland are within an easy hour's drive.
