Well-equipped character cottages with log fires. Peaceful courtyard set in large gardens with abundance of trees, shrubs and wildlife. The rural village of Challacombe has a friendly shop and traditional inn with good food and real ales.
Comfortable two and three bedroom holiday cottages in a sheltered valley on Exmoor, surrounded by large and enchanting gardens. The four cottages have been converted from a traditional Devon farm, "Town Tenement", which is at least 300 years old. The cottages retain much of their historic charm and character and are warm, comfortable and well equipped - each has a log fire (wood burning stove) and a small private garden.
The cottages surround a pretty courtyard near a quiet country lane in the small village of Challacombe. Farmhouse and Inglenook are in the original Devon longhouse, which was divided many years ago to support two families. Gatehouse and Garden Cottage are converted from former farm buildings with Garden Cottage having the benefit of being all on one level.
The three-acre gardens surrounding the cottages are full of charm and atmosphere with an abundance of plants, trees and wildlife. There are several lawned and wooded areas and a charming wildlife pond. There is a lovely circular walk up and around Humphrey's Hill, with excellent views of the surrounding countryside.
Traditional Inn with good food and real ales less than 300 yards away. Excellent location to explore Exmoor and the spectacular coastline of north Devon.
