Heron Shoal Cottage is a 3 bedroom, 1,200 square foot log home...

With rich wood walls and floors throughout, the cottage has an atmosphere conducive to rest and relaxation.

Heron Shoal is approved by Nova Scotia's Ministry of Tourism and has been awarded a Heron Shoal's accommodations have a 3 1/2 Star Rating from the Nova Scotia Department of Tourism

Amenities include:

Each bedroom features a view of the ocean
The master bedroom features a queen size bed
Bedroom 2 has two twin size beds
Bedroom 3 has a queen size bed
Each room has a ceiling fan and a double closet
A full kitchen including a microwave oven, Dishwasher, full size refrigerator and stove
A dining room that will comfortably seat six
A Great Room with two large sofas, a rocking chair and a huge log burning fieldstone fireplace
A full four piece bathroom
An automatic washing machine and dryer in a separate laundry / utility room
Telephone, Satellite TV, Stereo with CD player
Gas BBQ
Cooking utensils are provided
Bed linen and bath towels are provided (in-season only, see Rates page for details)
This non-smoking cottage is pet and child friendly!!

Rental Policy

We understand that it may be necessary to cancel a reservation. To do so please call us ASAP at 902-257-1026 . Upon notification we will ask that you confirm your cancellation in writing by e-mail. Once we receive your confirmation, based on a full deposit of $400, we shall refund the deposit and rental fee as per the following schedule:

In the event of a cancellation we guarantee to:
- Refund the appropriate deposit refund within 15 business days
- Refund the appropriate weekly rental rate within 15 business days (unless cancelled within one month of rental date)

Heron Cottages will make every attempt to re-book the cancelled week(s). Should we be successful in doing so, we will gladly refund the balance of the rental amount and deposit within 15 business days, less the administration charge.

The weekly rental period is from check-in Saturday at 4 p.m. to check-out the following Saturday at 10 a.m.

Heron Cottages charges HST on all of its weekly rental rates.


Bookings received via e-mail or telephone are held for a period of 10 business days. This period allows the time for Heron Cottages to receive the refundable security deposit and post dated payment for the rental.

Payment Schedule
Deposit is due within 10 days of receipt of reservation by Heron Cottages. Weekly rate due 2 months prior to rental period (via PDC with deposit).

Payment may be made via personal cheque, bank draft or by electronic bank transfer to our bank account (please contact us for details). Credit cards are not accepted.

The Security Deposit will be refunded by mail within 15 business days of departure.
