THE BEST MUDGEE LOCATION.

All airconditioned Ardrossan B&B;, only 2.86 K from the Mudgee P.O., is the perfect base for up to 10 people to explore the 42 Mudgee N.S.W. Australia wineries, markets, museums, art galleries, boutique shops and restaurants. We offer 3 super comfortable queen bed rooms with en-suite shower rooms {one has an extra wide single bed added and a fold up single is also available}. The B&B; has new Memory foam super comfortable beds, cosy doonas, antique furniture, tapestries and original paintings. We also have one romantic four poster queen bed room, with private bathroom, spa bath, shower and separate toilet room. Complimentary chocolates, toiletries, robes, fluffy towels and hair dryers are provided.

Ardrossan has a lovely guest sitting room, library/card room and dining room with comfortable seating for 8 in front of the Jetmaster log fireplace. Lots of books, games, TV, CD player, video and DVD movies are provided for the enjoyment of guests. Family antique furniture, needlework, original paintings, artworks and collectibles, including Susan’s Vermont Teddy Bear collection are much admired by visitors. Only mother bear could get away with wearing her mink as she rocks her children in the c1760 cradle which still has the old milk paint.

5 course scrumptious breakfasts are served at the time of your choice , between 7.30 and 9 am, in the dining room. We serve fresh fruit, orange juice, fruit salad and poached fruit in season, cereals. Muesli, pastries, croissants, breads, crumpets, English muffins, jams, butter, yogurts, freshly brewed tea and ground coffee. Guests can make their own hot toast in the toaster on the buffet. Our cooked specialties are 5 berry pancakes, Eggs Benedict, traditional English breakfast, bacon, eggs, tomatoes, hash browns, Ardrossan’s farmer’s frittata, award winning local sausages and French scrambled eggs.


The kitchenette is available for guests to make coffee, tea and small meals. A fridge, microwave, toaster, jug and sandwich maker toaster are available for guests to use, as is the built in ironing board and iron. A gas barbeque is available for guest use in the pool cabana. Plenty of tables and chairs are provided in the garden and on the veranda.

Ardrossan’s huge, grape vine fringed, covered veranda , is a popular meeting place for early morning coffee, reading and card playing. Of course also popular is drinking award
winning Mudgee wine, eating delicious Mudgee crusty breads, cheeses, olives, chocolates and admiring the view of the flower gardens and the picture perfect view of cattle grazing in paddocks ringed by blue mountains.

Ardrossan has a huge covered, solar heated swimming pool and an 8 seater bubbling heated spa in the pool cabana. It is wonderfully relaxing to let those jets of warm water massage your muscles. We do ask that guests bring their own spa/swimming towels and slippers or warm socks to wear inside the B&B; on the light carpet. You will understand the “no shoes inside “ policy when you visit the wildlife.

Ardrossan has lots of farm animals. Dexter cattle and Damara sheep in the paddocks, big white geese who glide around Lake Esme, rabbits, kangaroos and hares, Muscovy ducks, black ducks, wood ducks, ibis, herons, fish, and turtles on Lake Esme. Colourful goldfish swim around among the water lilies, homing pigeons coo and strut, and lots of beautiful native birds come to be fed every day. We see 3 kinds of finches, red rumped parrots, eastern rosellas, willy wagtails, blue wrens, crested pigeons, kookaburras and honeyeaters. We often hear the glorious notes of the butcher birds and magpies greeting the morning. We have 3 little girl dogs. Coco, the long hair Chihuahua and K.C. the Papillion take their jobs as the official greeters very seriously and are available for cuddles. Our long haired miniature dachshund, Schatze is very shy with strangers. As Ardrossan has many water features and animals we regret we are unable to accommodate children or pets. We are pleased to make reservations at restaurants and for guided wine tours for our guests and are pleased to make recommendations. Brochures are available in Ardrossan’s library. Gift certificates are a lovely way to give pleasure to friends and family. We can email them for you to print out and give as a surprise gift.

As Ardrossan is small and intimate we do not take credit cards. Deposits to hold your accommodation can be made by direct bank deposit, pay pal or cheque. The balance can be paid in cash on arrival or by direct deposit 3 days before arrival. We look forward to sharing our lovely part of Mudgee with you.
