Entering Paradise

Our piece of paradise is Villas Sacbe Unit 10, a luxurious 3-story penthouse in an intimate group of 12 condominiums located in the heart of Playa del Carmen. On 1st Avenue between 12th Street and 14th Street, you are about 50 meters from the beach and 25 meters from the shops and restaurants in the most enchanting portion of Fifth Avenue. We especially like the shrimp tacos at La Palapa Hemingway, and the local Mexican and Mayan dishes at Yaxche, but there must be 50 restaurants within 4 blocks from our unit. There are 2 supermarkets
in walking distance, too. No need for a car in Playa. The nearby beach is nearly perfect for children and adults alike--gradually sloping white sand with gentle waves in the turquoise water. And,just around the point to the north, the beach near Mamitas is more
nearly perfect. Visit our piece of paradise. You may never go home.

Living in Paradise

Our unique architecture includes 2-story windows overlooking the central courtyard and swimming pool, curved walls and open spiral staircases, and a palapa roof over the third bedroom. Interior features include Tikul stone on all floors, a custom kitchen island
and 6 stools, and striking local paintings and sculptures. There are three lower terraces overlooking 1st Avenue, but the best outdoor area is the large private rooftop terrace with a plunge tub, a wet bar and small gas grill, and turquoise views of the Caribbean Sea.

We gravitate to the custom kitchen island for food and drink, especially breakfast and lunch. And for happy hour with wine or margaritas, and fresh homemade guacamole and salsa with chips. Our kitchen is well equipped for preparing full dinners as well as
lighter meals, with full-size stainless steel gas stove and oven. Chef service is available, too, but we take most meals at restaurants. The living room provides comfortable seating for 8, and is equipped with cable TV, DVD, and stereo.

Dreaming in Paradise

Two bedrooms are located on the lower floor. There is a queen-sized bed in the master bedroom, which of course has a private bathroom. The master bedroom is equipped with cable TV and DVD. The second bedroom has two twin-sized beds that can be made up as a king, and has virtually private use of the hallway bathroom. The third bedroom is a loft above the rooftop terrace that has a double bed and a small balcony with the best view in Villas Sacbe. It uses the bathroom on the main (middle) floor. Finally, the sectional couch in the living room can be used to sleep two, if desired, either in two twin beds or a king. But my favorite sleeping spot is under the sun on the private rooftop terrace. If I get hot I step into the plunge tub. Paradise.
