Property Description

On a secluded five acres of pristine rainforest beachfront in one of the most biologically diverse areas on earth, this handcrafted bamboo/hardwood house lets you escape the hustle of civilization and safely enjoy the rainforest.

Property Details

Located in the same vast, uninterrupted rainforest as nearby Corcovado National Park, Casa Bambu is located on the tip of the Osa Peninsula, where the rainforest meets the sea. Outside Magazine calls the Osa 'Costa Rica's great untamed peninsula,' and says: '…the old Costa Rica, a country of unspoiled rainforest, abundant wildlife, rustic facilities…does still exists…on the Pacific Coast's rugged Osa Peninsula.' National Geographic calls Corcovado one of 'the most biologically intense places on earth.'

After visiting our house, Lonely Planet's Costa Rica recommends Casa Bambu as a place to stay.
Men's Journal touts Casa Bambu as a destination in its vacation guide cover story “How to Rent a Dream House Anywhere: Your Own Private Resort.” It says: “For the jungle experience, visit the Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica’s wild southern appendage. Its few paved roads lead to tiny fishing villages, like Cabo Matapalo, where you’ll find unspoiled beaches and houses like Casa Bambu on a plot of pristine rainforest teeming with monkeys.”
The Fine Living Channel recently featured Casa Bambu in its “Around the World in Eighty Houses,” a show which focused on unique and amazing houses throughout the world.
The Denver Post Travel section, May 15, 2005, featured our houses in an article about the Osa Peninsula. See DenverPost.com.
When Costa Ricans greet each other, they often say “Pura Vida,” or pure life. When you visit Casa Bambu, you’ll truly understand what this means.
Casa Bambu is comfortably furnished, with a complete kitchen and bathroom, pure artesian well water, and a solar electric power system with 110 volts (like the U.S.). Readily available services include grocery shopping, meal preparation, maid/laundry and transportation. Amenities include: spacious kitchen/dining areas; refrigerator/freezer; cooking utensils provided; linens provided; large up & downstairs porches; ceiling and bed fans; comfortable furniture; hand-crafted 4-poster beds with custom-fitted netting; ocean view; landscaped yard with flowers, tropical fruit trees, & lawns sweeping to the beach out front; indoor & outdoor showers; caretakers/manager on site.
