You will find that Dancing Bear Cabin is the perfect mountain retreat. Nestled in the pines and a short walk to a picturesque lake, you will enjoy the peace and beauty of the area. Golf, horseback riding, shops and restaurants are all close by.

Property Details

Dancing Bear Cabin has been called "the cutest cabin on the mountain." Secluded in the pines on a quiet cul-de-sac, yet within walking distance to the quaint village with shops and dining and you will be far away from the clamor of the city. Fern Lake is an easy 4 minute walk and numerous trails are nearby for your enjoyment.

You will find it easy to unwind and renew in the tall pines and fresh air. Cozy up to a book by the flicker of a warm fire. Get artistic and paint scenes of the mountains and sky. Wander down winding trails and along streams. Get out and do some serious biking or power walking. Or just sit on the porch and relax.

Decorated with rustic lodge decor, unique art and antiques, Dancing Bear Cabin also has a whimsical side... with bears everywhere you look, of course. Dancing Bear himself, a one-of-a-kind wood carving, likes to stay close to the warmth of the glowing wood stove.

Come and treasure our family's mountain log home. You will want to make it an annual tradition!

Rental Policy

1. CHECK-IN TIME IS AFTER 3 P.M. PST AND CHECK OUT IS 11 A.M. PST. NO Early Check-ins.

2. This is a NON SMOKING cabin. A $500 penalty for smoking will be charged.

3. Pets are NOT PERMITTED in rental cabin. $500 per pet cleaning fee applies should it be found that pets were in the cabin.

In the mountains All pets must be leashes at all times. Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up of any/all pet refuse. Fleas and tick are very rampant in this area and can cause harmful/fatal illness to humans and pets. All items above are the sole responsibility of the pet owner. The cabin owners assume no responsibility for illness or injury that may incur to pets or humans while on the premises. Pets are not allowed in the cabin at any time.


4. We will not rent to vacationing students or singles under 25 years of age unless accompanied by an adult guardian or parent.

5. DAMAGE/RESERVATION DEPOSIT- A security/damage deposit of $500 is required. This must be received within two (2) days of booking the reservation. The deposit is NOT applied toward rent; however, it is fully refundable within (14) days of departure, provided the following provisions are met.
a. No damage is done to cabin or its contents, beyond normal wear and tear.
b. No charges are incurred due to contraband, pets or collection of rents or services rendered during the stay.
c. All debris, rubbish and discards are delivered to the dump (due to bears, no trash may be left in the cabin or on the premises), and soiled dishes are placed in the dishwasher and cleaned.
d. All keys are left in the lock box, windows are closed and cabin is left locked.
e. All charges accrued during the stay are paid prior to departure.
f. No linens, bed covers, or any items are lost or damaged.
g. NO Early check-in or late check out.
h. The cabin and all contents are left fully cleaned and ready for the next guest. Cleaning will be billed at $20.00 per hour.

1. PAYMENT – An advance payment equal to 50% of the rental rate is required 60 days before arrival. The advance payment will be applied toward the room rent. Please make payments in the form of traveler’s checks, bank money orders, cashiers checks or personal checks payable to James Andersen. The advance payment is not a damage deposit. The BALANCE OF RENT is due fourteen (14) days before your arrival date.

2. CANCELLATIONS – A sixty (60) day notice is required for cancellation. Cancellations that are made more than sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date will incur no penalty except if deposits were made via credit card. All credit card cancellations are subject to a 5% Cancellation fee or $50 whichever is greater. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay, that are made within 60 days of the arrival date, forfeit the full advance payment and damage/reservation deposit. Cancellation or early departure does not warrant any refund of rent or deposit.

3. MONTHLY RESERVATION CANCELLATIONS – Monthly renters must cancel one hundred twenty (120) days prior to check-in. Monthly renters who make a change that results in a shortened stay must be made at least ninety (90) days prior to check-in.

4. MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY- The maximum number of guests per cabin is limited to eight (8) persons. An additional charge or $10.00 per person per night for guests in addition to eight (8) will be assessed.

THIS PROPERTY REQUIRES A TWO (2) NIGHT MINIMUM STAY; THREE (3) nights during peak and holiday seasons.
5. If a rental is taken for less than the minimum required number of days, the guest will be charged the minimum night rate.

6. INCLUSIVE FEES – Rates include all utilities. Firewood is not included or provided.

7. NO DAILY MAID SERVICE – Please bring your own bed linens (or sleeping bags) and bath towels. Bed linens and bath towels are not provided in the cabin. Daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We suggest you bring your own pool towels. We do not permit towels, linens, or any items to be taken from the cabins.

8. RATE CHANGES – Rates subject to change without notice.

9. FALSIFIED RESERVATIONS – Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment, deposit and/or rental money, and the party will not be permitted to check in.

10. WRITTEN EXCEPTIONS – Any exceptions to the above mentioned policies must be approved in writing in advance.

11. Parking – Parking is limited to two (2) vehicles. Vehicles are to be parked in the driveway only. Parking on the road is not permitted. Any illegally parked cars are subject to towing; applicable fines/towing fees and is the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner.
12. Hot Tubs – Not currently provided. Sorry.
13. STORM POLICY/ROAD CONDITIONS – No refunds will be given for storms. Mountain roads can be curvy and steep. We highly recommend four wheel drive and/or chains during the snow months. We do not refund due to road conditions.
14. The cabin is privately owned; the owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. It is understood that the cabin location is rustic in nature, access is over dirt, stones and stairs, and that there are uneven surfaces and natural hazards around the cabin. The cabin contains rough surfaces, hot surfaces, steep stairs and other hazards. Snow and ice removal are the responsibility of the renters/tenants. The Homeowners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any loss or harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise during their stay.

Additional Rate and Deposit Information

Mar-May ............... $125/night (2 night minimum) .. $ 700/week.
Jun-Feb ............... $145/night (2 night minimum) .. $ 825/week.
Holidays .............. $165/night (3 night minimum) .. $1050/week.
Local Special Events .. $145/night (2 night minimum).
Unrefundable Deposit of $100 to Hold Dates and Will Be Applied to Rental Fee
Refundable Deposit of $500 If There is No Damage, Theft or Cleaning Necessary.
Cleaning, If Necessary, Will Be Charged at a Rate of $20/Hour.
Smoking Fine is $300 to Cover the Cost of Deep Cleaning the Cabin.
