Across The Way Bed & Breakfast at the Fassitt Mansion, located in the heart of Amish Country, invites you to experience the history and elegance of a Victorian mansion, once a "Safe-House" on the Underground Railroad. It was built in 1845 by Captain William Fassitt as a way to entertain guests and throw lavish parties. Located halfway between Philadelphia and Harrisburg, it was also a frequent stop for weary travelers.

The Fassitt Mansion boasts twelve-foot ceilings, decorative molding in every room, deep window sills and spacious guest rooms.

We are located central to anything you might like to do or see while you are here:

West: A number of farm markets, the Amish Experience Theater, Buggie Rides, Gettysburg, etc.
South: Strasburg Railroad, outlet shopping, etc.
East: Brandwine Valley and its wineries, Longwood Gardens, Valley Forge, King of Prussia Mall, Philadlephia, etc.
North: Antiques Capitol! Hershey, The Green Dragon Auction and Flea Market, etc.

A full country breakfast is served family style at the oversized dining room table every morning.

Rental Policy

One week notice is needed for a cancellation or a $50 fee is charged per night of reservation, unless we fill up the room.

Smoking is only allowed on our covered porch.

Arrival Times

Check in is any time after 3pm. There is no cerfew at The Fassitt Mansion.

Additional Rate and Deposit Information

Rates for one-night stays and weekends are considered our regular or higher rates. Our midweek rates for a two-night stay is at least $20 less! Two night stay is required, however if we have availability at the last minute, we do fill in with one-night stays!
