New house with private drive & shared pool in a rural village, on the foothills of the Sierra de Columbares regional park, having open views to the South from the large solarium and the shared balcony for the bedrooms. Easy drive to coast or city.
Facing South, on the foothills of the mountains of Sierra de Columbares regional park, (favoured by cycling enthusiasts) the house offers panoramic views over the village, golf course and countryside towards the coast.
The village is part of the Spanish equivalent of an English Manor, with the Manor House, La Hacienda, of Don Paco a short walk away from the village, directly overlooking the new golf course of La Tercia Real.
Activities in the immediate area include golf, angling, walking, climbing, cycling and birdwatching. In the coastal region, water sports of all kinds are available, along with the usual facilities of modern resorts. Also close by are the salt lakes and regional parks which offer protection to flocks of flamingos, wild life and migratory birds.
La Tercia is a short drive away from the vibrant city of Murcia, once the seat of the kingdom. The city is steeped in history, the jewel in its crown being its beautiful 600 year old cathedral, yet its streets bustle during the day and it is famed for the quality and variety of wares on its markets. It has a lively night-life and holds several major fiestas throughout the year.
Be sure to visit the truly ancient port of Cartagena on the coast. This wonderful city has hosted countless civilisations over millennia, most of which have left their mark on the culture and architecture. The harbour mouth is a formidable natural defence which has been developed by man, most recently in WW II and was the location of much of the filming for "The Guns of Navarone."
