Font Romeu and the Cerdagne region

Font Romeu is the main town of the Cerdagne region. For years it was the vacation destination of rich French and Spanish skiing and enjoying the mountain air. Today Font Romeu has accommodation in hotels and apartments for all budgets. Above the town is the ski station. It has runs for all abilities and is well serviced with chairlifts and lots of snow cannon. Nearby there are other ski resorts - all part of the Neiges Catalanes ski area. Each resort has its own character and there are plenty of heated discussions over which is the best! In the summer Font Romeu and the local area is visited by many, coming to enjoy the fantastic scenery or take part in the many mountain activities. There are high peaks for the energetic plus fantastic walks among lakes, gorges and forests. Activities include fishing, kiting, paragliding, rafting, canyoning, climbing, thermal baths, etc.
