Calis is a small, laid back holiday resort, with a 6km sand and shingle beach. It is well known for its cooling breeze which is appreciated in the hot summer months and for the Caretta Caretta (Loggerhead) turtles that return every year to nest between May and September. At the south end of the beach is a wetland designated as a bird sanctuary for more than 200 species of birds that stop off on their annual migration. For the more energetic there are plenty of water sports including windsurfing and kitesurfing and Calis has its very own aqua park. Bars and Restaurants line the promenade and offer spectacular views of the famous sunset, a huge golden orb slowly sinking into the glittering sea. Only a 2 minute walk from the Villa.
