This grand home is one of the oldest Victorian homes on Mackinac Island and has been designated an historic landmark. Cloghaun (pronounced CLAH HAUN) was built in 1884 by the present owner’s great-grandparents who emigrated from Ireland to escape the famine. Cloghaun has been preserved by their descendants and now offers guests a tranquil, romantic interlude from the demands of everyday life.
Eleven guestrooms (nine with private bath) are individually designed and decorated with antiques from the late 1800’s. One room has a private entrance. Two rooms have private balconies. The library has many fine old classics for you to curl up and enjoy, or if you wish, watch television or a video from the assortment provided.
