Built in 1780 by Gamaliel Deming and originally called the Deming Tavern, the Deming House is a two story center hall Georgian colonial that retains much of it's original srchitecture and demeanor. The inn is centrally located between Bennington and Manchester Village and provides a great starting point for all your Vermont adventures. The area abounds in beauty from the world famous Batten Kill River and it's native brown trout, to it's gently soaring green mountains. There is unlimited shopping from areas antique stores to the factory outlet shops in Manchester Center. You can canoe along the Batten Kill or hike Mt. Equinox or any number of back country trails, including the Appalachian Trail. There is a fabulous golf course 10 minutes away and in the winter Bromley & Stratton ski areas 25 to 45 minutes from your door. Each room has a quaint Franklin stove to knock off the morning chill before you crawl out from under your comforter. The rooms are all queen-sized beds and have private baths.
