The Sunset Bluff house is a new, custom-built oceanfront home
perched on a cliff overlooking the entrance to the Bay of Fundy. The
house faces west with a 180 degree ocean view and the sunsets are
breath-taking. The house is fully-equipped for any and all of your
vacation needs. The Sunset Bluff House features approximately 2000
sq ft of indoor living space and a 600 sq ft covered porch facing the
ocean. Main floor: 2 bedrooms, each with a queen-sized bed. The
master bedroom has a private bath with tub and shower. Another bath
services the rest of the main floor and has its own tub and shower.
The kitchen is equipped with dishwasher, microwave, coffee pot and
all the necessary cooking equipment and accessories. The kitchen
space overlooks the dining area and has outstanding views of the
ocean. The living and dining area features 21 feet of glass
overlooking the ocean and is nearly 30 feet in length. A TV,DVD
player and stereo is provided for your entertainment. The house has
satellite TV service with digital music. The entire house features
wood floors. Linens are provided as is a washer and dryer. The house
is fully-winterized and heated for off season use. 2nd floor: 2
bedrooms each with a queen-sized bed and a full bath with tub and
shower. The upstairs bedrooms have double windows with ocean views to
the north and south respectively. The bedrooms have wood floors. The
house is located in the Highhead section of the quiet village of
Short Beach, only short drive (about 10 minutes) from the town of
Yarmouth and the international ferry terminal. Short Beach, is in the
town of Sandford.
The quaint town of Yarmouth features shopping, fine dining, and all
the necessities. Anything that you may need to make your stay
comfortable can be found in Yarmouth. Several fine restaurants are
located in Yarmouth and the surrounding area. Rudders Seafood
Restaurant and Brew Pub and The Manor Inn are definitely worth a
visit. The house is located just off the Evangeline Trail. The
Evangeline Trail parallels the Fundy coast and will take you through
farms, forts, and fishing villages. Several fine sandy beaches are
located within minutes of the house. Port Maitland and Mavillette
are Provincial Parks and have picnic facilities and/or bathhouses.
Approximately 35 minutes to the north is the town of Digby with its
world famous scallop fleet. Digby has an excellent assortment of
waterfront restaurants and shops. Just south of Digby is the
entrance to a long stretch of shore and islands known as Digby Neck.
Route 217 runs between the Bay of Fundy on one side and the waters of
St. Mary's Bay on the other. The road winds through fishing villages
and countryside and will require some short ferry crossings. The
ferry's run hourly 24 hours a day and are themselves worth the trip.
On your way down don't miss Balancing Rock. A half hour hike takes
you to the shore and the rock that seems to defy the laws of gravity.
The final ferry brings you to Brier's Island an ecological treasure.
Some of the best whale watching in the world can be found in the
waters surrounding Brier Island.
