During the spring, summer and fall seasons you can enjoy Wisconsin's Northwoods. Vilas county and the Eagle River area provide some of the richest and most varied fishing grounds in the world. You can enjoy everything from the trout fishing in the stream to walleye, bass, northern pike, musky and all kinds of panfish abound the many area lakes. Take advantage of the many swimming and water sports or just relax in the sun on the pier.

In the winter, snowmobilers have an extensive trail system that is easy to find. And for cross country-skiers they can enjoy the well groomed trails just a few miles away.

Abai Shores Retreat is a uniquely designed custom built home. Located on Kathan Lake (Private Lake) of the Eagle River.

This very spacious 2 level home has 3 bedrooms (2 bedrooms queen, 1 bedroom 2 twins) and a futon sofa that converts to a queen size bed. Large living room with large picture windows overlooking the lake (both upstairs and downstairs). 2 Full bathrooms (1 upstairs and 1 sauna shower downstairs). Fully equipped Kitchen, dishwasher,wood burning fireplace, Microwave and automatic coffee maker, washer and dryer. TV, DVD, CD and stereo system.

If you have small children and want to give them the experience of fishing you can fish from you own private pond. We also offer a private playground right next the ponds, so adults can fish while still keeping an eye on the kids. Down by the lake you can relax with the family and enjoy a quiet fire by the firepit. We offer a picnic table, outdoor chairs and barbecue grill to enjoy your just caught fish.

Rental Policies

Reservations should be made well in advance. Specify number in party, date and preferences. The majority of our rentals are Saturday to Saturday. Check-in time is 3:00 p.m. on the Saturday of your week and check-out time is 8:00 a.m. on the following Saturday. Cottages may be rented by the day before June 15 and after Labor Day. Only weekly rental is available between June 15 through Labor Day. A 3-day minimum is required. ADDITIONAL PEOPLE OVER THE NUMBER SHOWN ARE CHARGED A RATE OF $10.00-$20.00 PER DAY OR $50.00-$100.00 PER WEEK. We do not accept credit cards. The deposits to hold a reservation are not refundable due to cancellation unless the unit become rented.
