AHR rents a variety of vacation homes and private cabins in the Lakes and Mountain Region of Western Maine. Our office is in Bethel Village near Sunday River Ski Area. We own and rent only our own properties to assure your experience.
The Village House is a 5 bedroom 2 1/2 bath that sleeps 11 or 12 if using the crib. It is nicely furnished and has a completely applianced kitchen with service for 12. The living room has a couch, settee, and two chairs and a gas woodstove for ambience. The home is on a quiet side street in Bethel Village just a short walk to the Bethel Hill Common and all village shops and restaurants. It is a short walk to golf at The Bethel Inn and Country Club and to the free winter area shuttle bus service. Other features include a large shaded yard with gardens, a 2 car garage, a glassed front porch, a covered rear deck, and a gas grill.
The River House is a private 2 bedroom plus laddered loft cabin. It is very private and located on the very banks ob Howard pond stream. The kitchen is fully applianced and the kitchen, dining, living area is all native pine with a cathedral ceiling. Off the living area is a nice deck with table and chairs overlooking the babbling stream. There is seating and an outdoor fireplace near the banks of the stream and also a gas grill fr cooking. There are great little hot tub size pools in the brook or it is just a 1/2 mile to the swimming beach at Howard Pond. Great canoeing and kayaking is available on the Androscoggin River at the bottom of the hill, or in the many area lakes and ponds. There is wonderful hiking in the Mahoosuc mountains, and nearby is Grafton Notch State Park and Evans Notch. There are numerous waterfalls and water slides in the area, and two covered bridges as well as the chance to see moose and bald eagles.
The Lake Cottage is a private vintage Maine camp. It enjoys wonderful mountain views and all day sunshine with its southern exposure. There is a large private yard, a shallow sandy beach, a fire pit, hammock, dock, canoe and when it rains a babbling stream in back. To one side of the camp is all conservation land. The camp has a bedroom, living dining area, kitchen, bunk room, small bath, and a screen porch on the first floor and an upstairs with 3 twin beds. The camp has no electricity but does have cold running water, an out house, gas lights, gas stove and gas refrigerator. You will step back in time to a different way of life.
