Chennai, the capital city of Tamil Nadu, occupies a position on the Coromondel Coast of the Bay of Bengal. The ever-expanding city has also the distinction of being the nation's fourth largest city. Boasting a history as old as 367 years, the city has a plentiful supply of temples and churches. During December/ January, Chennai teems with Carnatic music concerts and classical dance performances being held in different parts of the city. Once inside the city, you will also be able to observe a colonial charm that hovers around it. Of course, the city has a culture that's distinguishable from the culture of the northern India. It's a city where the classic and the contemporary have blended beautifully to come out with something we call Chennai. The city is traditional yet modern. From vegetarian fare to fast foods, from the ancient Pallave temples to the modern high rise buildings and from Carnatic music to discos, Chennai provides it all.
