Property Details
La Ventola suite takes its name from and old wind pump located on the property. It is one half of an elegantly restored farmhouse located in countryside at about 30 KM from Rome, near the town of Palombara Sabina.
The property can accomodate up to six people: 2 in the double bedroom , 2 in the studio and eventually also 2 guests in the living room on a very comfortable sofa bed. It offers telephone, internet connection and TV.
There is a living room with wood burning fireplace and open kitchen, one double bedroom, a bathroom with shower and a storage room, Attached -but with independent access- there also is a studio with its own full shower bathroom. A wide covered terrace adjoining to the farmhouse is furnished for outdoors dining and barbacueing.
The farmhouse, located in an olive, fruit and wine farm, also offers a panoramic swimming pool wich overlooks the mountains of the Natural Park of Monti Lucretili. The pool and lawn around it are shared with one long term tenant who lives in the other half of the cottage and the owner, who is often in residence in the villa on the other end of the lawn where the pool is located at about 50 m. from the farmhouse.
Rome is within easy reach (about 45 mins. by car or by metro train) as is Fiumicino Airport by metropolitan train, which stops at Pianabella station. Nearby attractions include the sulphur water spas of Cretone (Terme di Cretone) and Tivoli, with Villa d’Este and Villa of Adriano. Horseback riding and hicking lovers have many options including Monte Gennaro and Macchia del Barco.
While the pleasure of countryside living requires the use of a car, for our location this is not necessarily the case as the metro train that stops at nearby (4.5 kms) Pianabella Station goes to Fiumicino Int'l Airport passing through Rome. This train connects directly with central locations such as Trastevere and Stazione Ostiense or, switching to the subway system at Tiburtina Station, it is easy to go anywhere from St. Peter's to Piazza di Spagna, Colosseo, Fori Imperiali, ecc. A bus rides from a nearby stop (10 mins walk) to the railway station every half hour. The owner will be glad to arrange in advance with you car rides to and from the station ( Eu. 4 each way). Rides to and from other locations can be arranged with a licensed taxi service.
If you drive you own car, we are located in the North of Rome area, close to the A1 highway exit of Fiano Romano, at around KM 29 of the Via Salaria.
The rental price comprises the exclusive use of the house, the studio and the covered terrace, electricity, cooking gas, water and heating, and a load of fire wood.
Also included are one change of linens and towels, and a kitchen fullly fitted with cookware and dishes.
Laundry service is offered on Tuesday and Thursday (€ 2 per load), as well a pressing service (€ 2 per item).
We stock the kitchen for you with complimentary coffe powder for the espresso machine, sugar, salt and the wonderful house extra virgin olive oil and vinegar, besides a cold bottle of our own Malvasia rosé wine.
The price does not include extra change of linens, and the final cleaning (Eu. 60).
The owner, a gourmet who once worked as chef on private yachts, will be happy to prepare full meals for you and your guests on special order and explain you the secrets of the true Roman cuisine.
