Heintooga means hiding place or refuge. We think you will find a sense of tranquility on our plot of the Cane Creek Valley. The cottage is a two story cedar structure with bath, kitchen, sitting room, and an upstairs bedroom/studio.
The furnishings reflect the eclectic nature of our own tastes. The kitchen floor of heart pine was first laid in 1920--then again here in 1998. The cottage features a covered porch in front and a rear deck overlooking a water feature and bird sanctuary. The property has three developed garden areas and boasts an abundance of native flora as well: depending upon when you visit, enjoy such treasures as trout lily, bluet, iris, flame azalea, lady slippers, whorled pagaonia, mountain laurel, rhododendron and other beauties. Eat in or dine out; Asheville is known for its fine eateries.
