French Pyrenees

The French Pyrenees is a land of contrasts, especially the eastern Pyrenees or 'Pyrenées Orientales'. On the one side you have the Mediterranean coast with it's long sandy beaches, fishing ports and rocky coastline. On the other side you have the foothills of the Pyrenees, with picturesque mountain villages, Romanesque chapels and abbeys, the mountain train lots of wine tasting and of course the Cathare castles.
