Hernando Beach Offers Canal-Side Living

Hernando Beach is a very small city located on the Gulf Coast of central Florida. With fewer than 2500 people living in the city on a permanent basis, Hernando Beach holiday rental homes provide tourists with a welcome break from the big city environment they may come from. Hernando Beach is also small in terms of geographical size; it occupies just four square miles. Most of that is land area, with just a tiny proportion represented by areas covered with water.

An interesting feature of Hernando Beach is the fact that it actually has no beach of its own. Near the coast, it certainly offers Gulf Coast beach access to neighboring cities, so there is no shortage of oceangoing fun available near Hernando Beach. The city itself, however, possesses a water feature that for many visitors is far more fascinating than the coastline: man-made canals.

Hernando Beach has become very popular in the last few years with many property owners moving in to buy villas, houses, and condos in the city. Some intend to live in these homes on a full-time basis, but many others purchase them for their investment potential. This means they can be rented out on a short- or long-term basis to visitors on vacation, who are generally thrilled at the opportunity to stay on a home that is located right on a canal.
