Pine Mountain Club: A Retreat in the Forest

Pine Mountain Club is a Kern County bedroom community located about an hour and a half north of Los Angeles. As is it nestled in the mountains and surrounded by almost 2 million acres of forested land yet very accessible from the urban area of L.A., the community has come to possess the nickname 'the nearby faraway place'. Tourists staying in vacation rentals in Pine Mountain Club can hike trails through the forest, which serves as a home to the spectacular California condor, an endangered species with an impressive wingspan.



Other recreational opportunities in the community include a nine-hole golf course that has been rated by the PGA, tennis courts, and a swimming pool. These alone do not make Pine Mountain Club stand out among other similar communities, but the addition of an equestrian center certainly does. In addition, guests in the community can relax in a clubhouse that provides a regular round of live entertainment. In the summer, there are also outdoor concerts to entertain so that guests can enjoy the Alpine surroundings as they listen to a variety of musical acts.



Special events in Pine Mountain Club include a Lilac Festival, Wine in the Pines wine festival, the Run to the Pines automotive show, and Oktoberfest. Constant amenities in the village include a variety of retail stores selling everything from groceries to quirky souvenir goods, a park equipped with a playground children will enjoy, several restaurants, and a gazebo.
