The Muizenberg area of Cape Town

Posted by Colin Wilkinson on Monday, November 26, 2007

Within a short drive of central Cape Town, there are stunning beaches restaurants and small communities that many tourist never see. Muizenberg and the Kalk Bay area certainly falls into this catorgary. Less than 30 minutes drive from central Cape Town along the picturesque M3 motorwway which winds its way along side Table mountain and past the home of the President of South Africa, through the green and leafy suburbs of Newlands and Bishopscourt, home to Bishop Desmond Tutu, before descending down to the vineyards of the beautiful Constantia valley. Once through Constantia one drives through the now not so small hectic town of Tokai and onto the aptly named Lakeside Drive which leads to Muzenberg , Kalk Bay and eventually to the famous naval town of Simonstown. This area of the Western Cape coast line is becoming increasingly popular to those tourists who wish to get away from the regular tourist attractions.
