This Spanish village is of Arabic origin & retains its Moorish influence with narrow streets & white houses.The village is traditional & the people of Benamocarra are friendly & welcoming. The village has banks,PO,chemist & bars where prices are lower than in tourist resorts.The swimming pool is open from mid June-mid September,it has relaxing grounds,lawned areas,parasols, a bar & changing rooms.There are many fiestas through the year from solemn processions to street parties.Everybody is invited to take part & enjoy the traditions that have been unchanged for many years.Benamocarra is in an excellent location for exploring the beautiful area of the Axarquia region with white villages dotted about the countryside. The city of Ronda has the oldest bullring in Spain built in 1785.Ronda is famous for its spectacular views over the El Tajo ravine.Other historic cities that are beautiful & worth visiting are Seville, Cordoba & Granada with its spectacular Alhambra Palace.
