Pego borders the Pego-Oliva Marsh Nature Park. It is possible to hire a boat to explore the marsh and wildlife. There are numerous golf courses in the vicinity the closest golf course is situated in Oliva (approx 10 minutes drive). The region offers a wide range of small Spanish style restaurants and bars as well as horse riding. Walking is also possible in the hills and mountains which is criss-crossed by a myriad of tracks and paths. With care you can walk comfortably all year round, but undoubtedly the best time is Spring, when the hillsides are carpeted with a hugh variety of colourful and delicate flowers and herbs, providing a feast for butterflies and a great spectacle for walkers.
