Berlin is one of the most remarkable cities in Germany and the whole world. Few cities have as much to offer their visitors. Berlin has theatres, museums, musicals, opera houses, variety theatres, fashion centres for avant-garde design, a huge range of cinemas, as well as many trade fairs and congresses. Berlin is also a city of many lakes and green spaces. You can go on wonderful excursions in the surrounding countryside by ship, bicycle, rail or car. And culturally, of course, Berlin is a metropolis unique in Europe. Berlin is graced by many splendid historical buildings and monuments, but there are also fascinating newer buildings, such as the renovated Reichstag (lower house of parliament), the Jewish Museum, and many more.
