Alozaina, Inland Costa del Sol
Posted by Larry Higgins on Saturday, February 10, 2007
This is one of the less populated parts Andalucia, relatively unspoiled and still occupied mainly by local farmers, although tourism is becoming a second source of income during the summer. The tourists are mostly attracted to the mountains and in particular to the Sierra de las Nieves. Here is found an abundance of wildlife including ibex, wild boar, smaller mammals and birds such as eagles, woodpeckers, nightingales and hoopoos etc. In Summer temperatures rise to the high 30’s regularly and swimming in the rivers is a popular pastime.
The finca is located in the parish of Tapezuelas, to the north-west of Alozaina which is itself to the north of Coin and Marbella. Alozaina boasts one of the most friendly and helpful communities in Andalucia. Access to the coast and the Airport is very good, the roads having been dramatically improved recently.
