Casalta overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and three different popular beaches in the resort city of Ubatuba. Ubatuba has over 70 beaches in the area and is a haven for surfers and boaters with three marinas located in close proximity . Ubatuba is also centrally located offering great access to the neighboring resort towns of Parati (1 hour), Angra dos Reis (2 hours) and Ilha Bela (1 hour).

The house itself is an open-concept, multi-level Mediterranean style villa designed for indoor and outdoor living. Each level of the villa is surrounded by a terrace from which you can see a variety of spectacular views at three points on the compass. On the terraces there are open areas for group activities and many secluded, private corners for you or your guests to enjoy in quiet solitude.

You enter the villa at the road level after ascending the hill that sets Casalta apart. Immediately upon entering the villa, you find yourself in a large living room (with fireplace) and sunken dining room area. Off the living room is the large master suite with fireplace and en-suite marble tiled bathroom with a Roman tub and walled courtyard for private sunbathing. There is a small area adjacent to the dining room to store your favorite vintage.

The kitchen and laundry room are off the dining room. The sunny kitchen features wall-to-wall cupboards and a large, walk-in pantry. Off the laundry room there is a bedroom and bath for staff. A guest powder room completes the main level of the villa.

Up a few steps from the dining room is the library/den, a warm retreat decorated with exotic “imbuia” wood paneled walls, a nautical motif, built-in book shelves and deep seated comfortable furniture for those evenings curled up with a good book.

Up another short flight of stairs is the “atelier”, a private space that has been used as an artist‘s studio and office, which is wrapped in windows on three sides offering magnificent views. The atelier has its own terrace for gazing at the sea while searching for inspiration.

The level beneath the main floor is the primary guest area. Here you find two bedrooms, each with its own private bath (one has an area for an infant’s bed) and a large combined TV (42” plasma with home theatre) and game room with brand new pool and ping pong tables.
Down several steps is another guest wing and the pool platform. This guest wing has its own private entrance and foyer, two bedrooms and a shared bathroom. The guest wing also has its own terrace for quiet moments of reflection overlooking the surrounding seas, mountains and beaches. The 13-meters long , kidney shaped heated pool is surrounded by heat dissipating “Pedra de Minas” stone and lush gardens. There is a covered pool-side patio, wet bar, and double barbeque area for easy entertaining.

Also on the property are the following:

an elevated and enchanting walled stone terrace situated among palm trees containing a large fountain, a private chapel, waterfall and benches for contemplation.
a complete spa including:
a separate bedroom;
a Jacuzzi room at tree-top level with views of the sea in several directions and of the
gardens below;
a private sunning area with spectacular views;
a cedar-lined sauna, with separate post-sauna pressure hose (hydra massage) area
and shower stall; and
an exercise room
A caretaker’s separate house
Please note that the villa is completely furnished with most of the appliances and furniture being brand new including two super king size beds with box springs.
