Large tastefully decorated accommodation part of a lovely old stone building with beamed ceilings, full of character in the heart of the charming little village of Issac.

Property Details

The property offers comfortable accommodation and modern fitted kitchen with four bedrooms and loads of space to roam around in. Just around the corner is the local shop and restaurant, a 5 minute drive away is the town with supermarkets and swimming pool and everything else you might need. A quiet spot which is a great base from which to explore the Dordogne.

There is private off street parking and a large garage, there is a covered terrace with plenty of space to enjoy eating al fresco and right next to the terrace is a 'cuisine d'ete' or summer kitchen with cooker, sink and washing machine.

From the terrace stairs lead up to the first floor entrance and open plan living room. There is a galley style modern fitted kitchen with electric hob, extractor, fridge freezer and dishwasher. The kitchen is open to the dining area so you can enjoy cooking without feeling locked away.

The open plan living has a lounge area with comfortable sofa, armchairs and television, there is a dinning area with table and chairs to one side and a small staircase leading up to a single attic bedroom in the eves. Off the living area and along the hall there is one large double bedroom (king size bed) off to the right, a further double bedroom down a couple of steps to the left, a bathroom, with wc and corner bath and another single bedroom.

The accommodation rambles over three floors in all with a very French feel and a great deal of charm. Outside the village is quiet and welcoming there are many footpaths to take and the countryside to explore. About 30 minutes from Bergerac this is an easy drive also within reach of Bordeaux (90 mins).

Sleeping
The village house comprises 4 bedrooms in total; 2 double, 2 single. . This gives room for up to 6 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

Bathrooms
The village house has 1 bathrooms and 1 WC for your party's use.

Outside the villa
The house has a large covered terrace with table and chairs for eating al fresco. There is a ‘cuisine d’ete’ or summer kitchen with direct access from the terrace which has cooker, sink, washing machine.

There is off street parking for two cars plus a large garage.

Situation
Pays de Bergerac.
The pays de Bergerac provides a wonderful combination of gentle countryside, picturesque towns and villages, fine wine and gourmet food.

The Dordogne, one of the most beautiful rivers of France, winds it’s way through Bergerac and was once of enormous importance to the region’s economy; it can be enjoyed by walks along it’s banks or taking a boat trip in a traditional gabare. The renovated old town has been restored to it’s former beauty and a pleasurable afternoon can be spent simply strolling it’s streets and relaxing in the shady squares.

The Area.
There is a restaurant and local shop just across the road, plus a Post office. There are several other good and inexpensive restaurants a short drive away. The local market is on Saturday in the nearby town of Mussidan where you will also find shopping in two supermarkets, 5 minutes by car. You will find everything you need there, bank, butcher, baker, general store, doctor and chemist.

You may enjoy hiring an electric boat for a river excursion in nearby Neuvic, or take a trip on the River Isle or Dordogne in a traditional gabare. Lac Jemaye is one of several lakes in the area offering a beach, children’s playground, nature trails, canoeing and pedaloes. With picnic area, restaurant and snack bar it offers a great day out.

There are several bastide towns throughout the valley of the Dordogne, the region of France which boasts the most chateaux. Perigueux, the capital of the department, with it’s cathedral and ancient city centre is half an hour away. St. Emilion and the many vineyards of the region are a must for those who wish to sample and perhaps take home some very fine wines.

A little further afield are the classic sites of the Dordogne Valley - dramatic cliff top villages, troglodyte settlements, Les Eyzies and prehistoric caves, Domme, Beynac and Castlenaud.

Activities
The village house is right beside walking, cycling, mountain biking, historic sites, a restaurant, a food shop.

Close to the village house you will find swimming, boat hire, fishing, horse riding, tennis, a museum, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas.

Less then 45 minutes drive away: Within easy reach of the village house you will find flying, golf.
