Lois Barns, Green and Blue, are two barn conversions located within Lois Farm, a small holding, in the Blackmore Vale. The barns and the farmhouse are the only dwellings down Lois Lane a quiet ‘no through road’ leading to traditional meadow fields
The countryside remains largely intact with the characteristic Blackthorn and Hazel hedges. Wildlife includes deer, hares, foxes, badgers, rabbits and a variety of birds. Adjacent to the farm are clearly marked footpaths and bridleways. A guide to local circular walks and plans of cycle routes are also available.
Inside, care has been taken to maximize the usage of light while retaining many of the buildings original features. The interior decor is uncluttered, simple and functional. Both cottages have their own South facing patios with lawn and views over the open countryside.
The village of Horsington is a walkable mile away and has a pub, duck pond and a church. The borders of Dorset and Wiltshire are just down the road and the historic towns of Castle Cary, Sherborne with its two castles, and the Saxon hill town of Shaftesbury are close by. Slightly further is the cathedral town of Salisbury and the Georgian spa town of Bath.
Other local attractions are the splendid National Trust Properties including Stourhead Gardens and Lake, Kingston Lacy and Montacute. Longleat Safari Park, Stonehenge and Glastonbury are easily reached.
