Calungate / Baga Beach area
Calungute in the midst of the tourist centre, Calungute town and beach has all the amenities you could wish for. It is also a good spot to begin to explore all the beautiful beaches and cultural centres that Goa has. You can easily get away from the Irish bars and trinket shops and get away off the beaten track, or soak up the jewel of Goan tourism in this vibrant place.

Calungate offers you the choice between finding great nightlife and relaxing in a tranquil environment 24 hr service. Whatever your tastes, you will love it.

Baga beach is approx 1km away ( a 10min stroll, same way to nightlife), this way you pass the bars and restraunts into the main road of baga then down to the beach. Calangute is 10 min stroll the other way, there is less to see this way until you get to the busy Calangute town and main road. You can walk down the river to the beach but this way is approx 30 mins winding around with the river - or taxis are always available if you dont fancy the walk!!

There is plenty to see and do in Goa. The standard of living is very very cheap and you can watch cattle & elephants walk down the road and monkeys sitting on walls!!
