The spacious lounge/diner has a comfortable sofa bed and armchairs, dining table and chairs for 6. Entertainment includes a TV with English satellite, DVD and CD player. The patio doors spanning the length of the room allow the cooling breeze to permeate the lounge. The shaded terrace has a BBQ and table and chairs leading to the sunny decked terrace with sunloungers, orange blossom trees and flowering shrubs. The apartment is up one flight of stairs with a secure entrance.
Within minutes of the apartment is the "Croisette" with its elegant promenade, deep blue sea and sandy beaches on one side and the Belle Epoch and Art Decor buildings on the other. Further along is the Palais des Festival, famous for the Film Festival and many conferences. Just behind here, a ferry can take you to St Tropez where the rich and famous holiday. Vieux port (old port) is here with its marina and magnificent yachts and boats. Nearby is "Le Suquet" (Castle on the hill)where numerous shops and restaurants line the quaint narrow streets climbing the hillside. The panoramic views at the top are not to be missed. For the faint hearted "The little White Train" has regular tours from the promenade with a running commentary in various languages.
Further afield and within easy reach on the nearby coastal railway is Antibes with the largest Marina on the French Riviera where some grandiose boats and yachts are moored, many owned by the rich and famous. Antibes has a Sunday provencal Market and a Thursday Market. Biot is a hilltop Medieval village packed with old charm and history. Down from there, near the coast is the most visited attractions on the French Riviera, a complex of attractions. Marineland has various shows daily with killer whales, dolphins, penguins, sea lions and many other aquatic species. Aquasplash has water rides to suit all ages, some not for the faint hearted. Crazy golf is fun for all the family. For the youngsters, a childrens farm with small animals and rides. Antibesland is a large funfair with big and small rides and sideshows to suit everyone. Monte Carlo is a must to visit with the famous Casino decorated in the original Belle Epoch style. The Monte Carlo Rally is held in January and the Grand Prix in May. See the changing of the guard at the Grimaldi Castle in Monaco, stroll around the winding streets with its shops, restaurants and museums. Ventimiglia in Italy has the popular Friday Market where cheap leather and table linen can be found. Tobacco and spirits are also cheap. Whatever your tastes, museums, water sports, horse racing, olde world villages, grand Canyon du Verdon, beaches and many more attractions too numerous to list, there is something for everyone on the French Riviera.
