Located in a tropical rainforest, and on a quiet beach, this vacation beach house offers a close relationship to rainforest flora and fauna. Handcrafted in local area hardwoods, the house allows you to unplug from hectic lifestyles. Solar powered!

Property Details

At Casa Dos Rios the four bedrooms have queen beds with bamboo posts and 'no-see-um' netting, and the house is well-ventilated with many windows, a breezeway and a cupola at the top of the house. The open-air porch downstairs houses hammocks for your relaxation, and the kitchen and living room were positioned to take advantage of the lovely view to the beach and Gulf Dulce.

Enjoy the natural wonders just outside the windows, as there are four kinds of monkeys in the region, and the wildlife includes toucans, macaws and iguanas to name a few. We have mature trees featuring fresh fruit. The beautiful landscaping of our grounds can be viewed by strolling our paths that lead to the beach just a few yards away from the house. Our house is located between two rivers. The closest river provides a refreshing pool of sparkling clear gurgling water for your enjoyment after swimming and surfing.

We are totally off the grid, with solar power, well water, and propane tanks for cook-stoves and hot-water heaters. Our on-demand hot water is available in sinks and showers. We have walk-in showers and luxurious linens for your comfort.
Our managers, Gretchen and Oldemar are on-site in a manager house, and are available to help make your stay comfortable,as well as to book tours, Gretchen teaches Spanish, and Oldemar teaches surfing and can take you on jungle-waterfall tours.

Rental Policies

We require a 50% deposit at the time of reservation.The remaining 50% to be sent to the owners prior to your arrival in Costa Rica. We do not accept credit cards. Checks, cashiers checks or money orders should be sent to:

During most of the year, we require a minimum of 45 days advanced notice if you need to cancel your reservation. At that point, we can refund your deposit, less a 15% administrative fee. With less than 45 days notice to cancel, we are no longer able to offer a refund.

During the weeks of Christmas and New Years we require 60 days notice to receive a 70% return of your deposit. After that we will be unable to provide a refund, as the holidays are a time of high demand.

If at any time, an unforeseen circumstance requires us to cancel or change your reservation, we will fully refund any deposit, help you to find other lodging and alert you at our earliest opportunity.

Casa Dos Rios and Norman Rentals do not provide travel, safety, theft or liability insurance. We recommend that you discuss any concerns with your insurance agent.

Arrival Times

Just pre-arrange your arrival time, and it will be considered, depending on vacating of prior guest, and cleaning.

Rental Rates

$805.00 to $2,150.00 per week

Additional Rate and Deposit Information

High season rates are $150 per night for two adults, plus $25 per additional adult per night ($10 per additional child under age of 12 per night). Green season rates have same rules but a base of $115.00 per night for two adults. (Green season begins Sept. 1 and ends Nov. 15th).
At Casa Dos Rios, there is a 4 day minimum stay requirement.
