Set on the ocean's edge, in a spectacular natural setting on beautiful Galiano Island, the Galiano Oceanfront Inn and Spa is British Columbia's best kept secret. Close to Vancouver, Victoria and the U.S. border, the Inn and Spa is conveniently located 15 minutes by float plane or 1 hour by ferry from the mainland, yet is a world away from city life. Truly unique, the Inn is a boutique intimate retreat with a personal touch, yet has all the services of a large 5* resort.
At Galiano Island’s only oceanfront resort, there are two types of accommodation:
Spa suites:
10 Oceanfront king and queen rooms have beautiful ocean views from every room. The rooms are peaceful and serene, with ocean views, open beam ceilings, private terraces or balconies, and floor-to-ceiling ledge rock, wood-burning fireplaces. The rooms have a serene atmosphere: soft, inviting colours, king and queen beds, silk or down filled duvets; and all have luxurious ensuites all with spa or soaker tubs, separate glass-enclosed showers, European tile baths, and 24kt gold fixtures. The rooms feature many extras to make your room so comfortable you will not want to leave: luxurious robes, flat-screen cable TV and DVD players (hidden discretely in the fireplace), wireless internet, CD players with a selection of local music, in-room coffee and tea service, refrigerators. To complete the spa experience, there is our own custom Madrona spa table, again discretely hidden in the wall, it appears at the touch of a button for you to have a massage by one of our qualified spa technicians or perhaps you want to book our “getting in touch” package to learn massage and get in touch with the special person in your life: a unique, one-of-a-kind experience.
Villa Suites
NEW 10 Oceanfront Villa Suites focus on your complete comfort and relaxation which includes: beautifully appointed dining area , king bedroom with ensuite with enclosed glass showers, living room with pull out sofa bed, large terrace with wood burning fireplace, barbecue, Jacuzzi and outdoor seating. A washer and dryer, HDTV in living room and bedroom, and wireless internet. The suites even have a built-in wine cooler which you may stock with choices of wine from our wine shop that features local British Columbia wines.


Dining: The romantic setting is best enjoyed from a window-side table in our “eat” Restaurant which focuses on fresh, locally sourced ingredients, combined with local award-winning wines, all in a fabulous, eclectic style. You will enjoy this modern approach to cuisine, while relaxing by the stone fireplace, in a room that is redolent with old world touches: expansive polished wood floors, wrought iron features, lots of stone and glass, and of course, the view, yet captures all of the beauty of the West Coast in a building with stunning architecture.
Retreats: The Galiano Oceanfront Inn and Spa is a natural setting for family or corporate retreats.
Weddings: The beauty of the gardens, the sea, the restaurant and the suites and villas are a natural for weddings, birthdays or any special occasions.
The Terrace: summer creates for us a culinary outside experience with gourmet wood fired pizza by the ocean in the garden. This may be enjoyed together with wine from the extensive wine menu.
The Dock: Boaters can now visit the resort for dining, spa or a stay at the Inn, by tying up at the new (2009) dock at the resort.
Madrona del Mar Spa: immerse yourself in the spa experience. A fabulously luxurious spa and wellness retreat situated on the ocean’s edge, you will choose from a full menu of spa treatments that you can enjoy in our luxury steam rooms: body treatments, seaflora and glacial mud wraps, Vichy showers. Find the ultimate in relaxation in our special Madrona Sea Mineral flotation bath. Bodywork, facials, manicures and pedicures, massage treatments, and of course our ocean side jacuzzi.
Flores del Iris Gardens: The Inn is home to beautiful gardens used for meditation, relaxing, and summer art shows. Yoga retreats are held in the glass-surrounded yoga room in the gardens.
Or just relax by the fireplace and listen to the quiet. The Galiano Oceanfront Inn and Spa has everything to make your stay luxurious, while you enjoy the abundance of nature that makes Galiano Island such a special destination.

Ammenities
While still retaining its rural peacefulness and charm, Galiano has a wealth of activities to enjoy: whale-watching, golf, kayaking, swimming, hiking, bicycling, moped rentals, boating, scuba-diving, bird-watching, art galleries and gift shopping.
Driving Directions:
By car ferry from the mainland: take Highway 17 to the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal. Take the Southern Gulf Islands ferry (reservations recommended) to Galiano Island (the first stop, 50 minutes away). On arrival, take the first left (Madrona Drive) and go one block to the gates of our resort. Walking distance from the ferry. Or take a floatplane from the Vancouver airport or Downtown Vancouver

Our full-service Madrona del Mar Spa with couples treatments, pedicures, massage and more; meditation gardens, gourmet restaurant for evening dining, casual summer patio for lunch, well-stocked library, outdoors enjoy bocce or croquet, indoors enjoy a selection of board games by the fireplace.
Gourmet breakfast in "eat", our oceanfront Restaurant for those in our ocean front king and queen rooms. Chef's selections will include your choice of several delights, such as Eggs Galiano (smoked salmon and poached eggs served on herbed potato latkes), house-made granola with organic yoghurt and fruit
