Ashwood Hill Cottage is a fully furnished home, with two bedrooms, two baths, a fully equipped kitchen, living room with digital satellite television, VCR, DVD, and a wood-burning Vermont Castings fireplace/stove. Located in Virginia's beautiful Shenandoah Valley near Historic Lexington, home of VMI & Washington & Lee Univ.

The master bedroom is furnished with a king-sized wrought iron bed, and features an en-suite bathroom.Exquisitely decorated with antique pieces, ceiling fan, and all natural fabrics, including 310 count bed linens and a down comforter for chilly nights. You'll want to take it home with you!

A second bedroom, with its log walls, is equipped with twin beds which may be joined into a king-sized bed, a particularly nice way for two couples to enjoy the cottage. Like the master bedroom, natural linens and a ceiling fan are featured. A second bathroom is available for the occupants of this room.

The spacious grounds include seven acres of grassy meadows with hardwoods and pines, with over 30 acres of adjoining woodlands. Fully a third of a mile from the country lane which brings you to Ashwood Hill, the long entrance road ensures your total privacy. A firepit with bench seating, a picnic bench and a gas barbecue grill are located behind the cottage.

The cottage is located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, minutes from Goshen Pass, a spectacular rocky gorge with bathing, tubing, kayaking and hiking. It is located approximately midway between Lexington and Staunton Virginia, just 12 minutes from Interstate 81.

Rental Policy

* Deposit: We will hold your reservation based upon a credit card number. However, a deposit of 50% of the stay is required payable by check.
* Cancellation policy: A full refund, less a $25 service charge, will be made if cancellation is received at least fourteen (14) days prior to the reservation date, thirty (30) days for weeklong stays, holidays and special events. If cancellation is made within fourteen days, we will either (1) refund your deposit, less the service charge, if we are able to rebook the dates, or (2) issue a gift certificate in the amount of the deposit good toward a future stay of greater than two (2) nights in the event we are unable to rebook the dates. This gift certificate will be valid for one (1) year from the date of cancellation and may not be used on holidays, special event dates or in October. Sorry, there are no refunds for late arrivals or early departures.
* Capacity: The Cottage normally accommodates a maximum of 5 persons.
* Length of Stay: 2-night minimum-stay required for regular rates weekdays and on all non-holiday weekends. 1-night weekday stay $200.00
* Holiday Stays: 3-night minimum-stay required on certain holiday weekends
* Children: Well-mannered children are welcome at Ashwood Hill. We expect parents to monitor their children at all times and to correct their children if they become unruly or abusive of property. In addition, parents should understand that children need to be supervised both outdoors and indoors, as the unfamiliar environment may present dangers not present at home.
* Laundry Facilities: The washer and dryer will be available for guests staying four days or longer.
* NO SMOKING PERMITTED INSIDE COTTAGE
* Check-in time: 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. Earlier check-in available if not occupied the night before. Later self-check-in available upon request.
* Check-out time: By 12 noon
