Five-bedroom, four-bath house on its own lakeside acre on the west shore of Lake George, offering unusual privacy and cleanliness; wireless Internet connection. Boathouse with dock and deck surrounded by really exquisite lake and mountain scenery.
Built in stages as the family's needs grew, Lake House contains many levels and separate living areas. With all its nooks and crannies, it provides an unusual degree of privacy for everyone in the house. Constructed completely in wood, with sparse decorations but attention to details, the house presents an atmosphere that is inviting and relaxing.
Open all year, the house is heated with an oil furnace and cooled with a central system together with three window units.
The main room contains a gas-fired woodstove, an antique table that seats twelve, and the TV with cable and DVD player, plus a kitchen with all the equipment even a gourmet chef would ask for. A gas grill with grill-size utensils and an extra tank of propane is just outside.
The screened porch and outside deck offer more space for dining, relaxating, and enjoying each other's company and the natural setting.
The master bedroom with a king-size bed and its own bath and walk-in closet includes a sitting area and balcony overlooking the lake.
The other four bedrooms contain two queen-size beds, a set of twins that can be made as a king, a double bed, a narrow single, and two futon sofas that can become double beds. The floorplan on the website helps you figure out where everyone can sleep comfortably
The four baths all have a tub-shower with glass door.
In the basement are the washer and dryer and the recycling station.
The den on a lower floor has a second TV and the equipment for the wireless Internet connection.
For the children in the group, we offer cribs, a high chair, a booster seat, a tiny picnic table, a high-ceilinged playhouse, and a sandbox.
Along with children, we also welcome the family dog, with the one stipulation that it not bark a lot, which annoys the good neighbors.
The boathouse has dockspace for a boat up to 23 feet in length, and the family's rowboat as well as an array of lifejackets.
The water at the edge of the lake is about 15 inches deep, giving the little ones a good place to swim. Off the pier it is eight feet deep and fine for diving.
A ring of rocks surrounded with small benches and log seats makes a spot for a small campfire by the water.
Wintertime guests can enjoy skiing at Gore Mountain (we offer a 15% discount on lift tickets), the local snowmobile and cross-country ski trails, or just staying indoors by the woodstove. In case of a power outage, a generator is on site for providing heat, water, septic service, refrigeration, and basic lighting. The gas cooking stove and water tank provide more conveniences when the power is out.
In any season, the owner of the house lives nearby and will promptly attend to any problems that arise during your stay.
One half or one third of the rent will hold your rental period. The balance of the rent due 60 days before arrival. A refundable security deposit of $50 to $300 required.
