Whether that fountain is truly located in Florida has never been determined, but generations of tourists have enjoyed following in de Leon's footsteps and looking for it on their own. This park is an excellent place to start.
The Castillo de San Marcos
Another popular tourist attraction here is the Castillo de San Marcos. First built in the late 1600s, it is the oldest fort of its type in the United States and predates the establishment of the nation by more than a full century. Rumored to be haunted, the fort was featured on Ghost Adventures, a Travel Channel show, in 2009.
