Celebrate St. Practice Day in Hollywood, Florida

Most Americans think of California when they hear the word "Hollywood," but there is also a city of that name located in southern Florida. Hollywood, Florida is situated in Broward County and offers visitors staying in Hollywood vacation homes access to beautiful beaches along the Atlantic coastline. Now the 12th largest city in Florida, Hollywood has over 140,000 permanent residents and offers plenty to do and see for people who come to the "Sunshine State" for their annual vacations.

St. Practice Day Golf Tournament

Taking place in mid-September each year, the St. Practice Day Golf Tournament celebrates the "halfway day" to the March 17th commemoration of St. Patrick's Day. Each year, avid golfers in Hollywood participate in this event, which takes place at the Hollywood Beach Golf Resort. Visitors are welcome to join the locals in a Four Person Scramble game that takes advantage of the championship course at the resort. With three holes rated par five and five holes rate par three, this par 70 course provides a fun challenge to one and all. The course was designed by famed golf course architect Donald Ross back in the early 1920s and has been entertaining visitors to Hollywood, Florida, ever since.

There are more events on St. Practice Day than just golf. Micky Byrne's Irish Pub, located downtown, features a silent auction along with Irish music and a selection of food and drinks.
