Beach Choices in Bradenton Beach, Florida

Bradenton Beach should not be confused with the city of Bradenton, even though both locales are situated in Manatee County, Florida. While Bradenton is on the mainland, Bradenton Beach is located on Anna Maria Island just off the coast. Located in the Gulf of Mexico, this island features three cities; Bradenton Beach is towards the south and has fewer than 2,000 permanent residents.

Holiday rental homes in Bradenton Beach offer tourists the chance to enjoy miles of beaches covered with a fine, pale sand known as sugar sand. On the side of the island facing the Gulf of Mexico, visitors can sun themselves on Cortez Beach and Coquina Beach, the latter named after the shells that accumulate on the shore in great numbers.

Coquina Beach

Coquina Beach may be the better choice for couples that bring their children with them on vacation since it offers lifeguard supervision. This is also the beach of choice for tourists who like water sports; the bay side of Coquina Beach has an area of water that has become very popular with those who like to ride jet-skis and other personal watercraft.
