Top of their list, perhaps, should be Evan's American Gourmet Caf located on Emerald Bay Road. Evan's is known across the city for its excellent selection of wines both foreign and domestic. Praised by Bon Appetit magazine as having "sophisticated cuisine in a charming setting, Evan's provides its clientele with personalized attention, as well it should considering that this fine dining venue has only 11 tables. Needless to say, reservations are recommended.
Another outstanding choice is Ciera Steak + Chophouse, located in nearby Stateline, Nevada. The dining ambiance at Ciera is chic as well as stylish and house specialties include not only meat, seafood, and poultry entres but also a selection of vegetarian dishes. Ciera is open only for dinner service and features over 200 different wines and champagnes from all around the world. Because it is located in Nevada instead of California, diners at Ciera can visit follow their meal with a visit to a nearby casino for some blackjack, roulette, or perhaps a stage show.
For dinner combined with a cruise, tourists can try the M.S. Dixie II Paddlewheeler, widely considered the finest boat cruise on Lake Tahoe. Dinner dance cruises depart nightly from Zephyr Cove; diners can eat their meal while they enjoy leisurely views of the lake and shoreline.
